In September the research group was happy to present their recent work at the CIPA 2019 in Ávila. Four of our researchers travelled to the beautiful Ávila, a Spanish fortified city located about 2 hours west of Madrid. The fortification is well known and certainly played a role when Ávila was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985. The imposing Walls of Ávila were built from the 11th to the 14th centuries.
The programme of the CIPA Workshop on Research and Education in Urban History in the Age of Digital Libraries is now online and can be found here. The workshop takes place on October 10-11, 2019 and is co-located with the Time Machine Conference.

The CIPA Workshop on Research and Education in Urban History in the Age of Digital Libraries takes place on October 10-11, 2019 at the Deutsches Hygiene-Museum in Dresden, Germany (DEADLINE EXTENTION: July 21st, 2019).
The recent edition of the IT journal c’t (15/2019) features an article about the junior research group Urban History 4D. The article presents functionalities and potentials of the 4D browser as well as the AR application developed by the research group. Moreover it reflects the work of Urban History 4D in respect of the European project Time Machine.

Wir geben mit großer Betroffenheit den Tod unseres Mitglieds der Nachwuchsforschungsgruppe HistStadt4D, Frank Henze, bekannt. Er starb in der vergangenen Woche im Alter von 45 Jahren an einer schweren Kranheit. Wir verlieren mit ihm einen hochgeschätzten Fachkollegen und wichtigen Impulsgeber.
